Task 2 magazine analysis

The main image is of a music band called Kasabian performing in a church. This is very unusual as music is mainly has explicit content and other parts to it which is seen as a negative by the eyes of god. However by them having a main image of the band performing inside a church it suggests that the band is breaking stereotypes. This picture is also a reflection of the type of magazine it is. NME is a type of magazine that is not afraid to break stereotype and be unique. In the bottom left hand corner there is an advert which promotes NME magazine. It encourages people to subscribe to it. The text is in large yellow font it states that if you subscribe you will be able to save over £45. The use of the word “over” implies that it is more than just £45 you will be able to save. This makes it seem like it’s a good deal because of the amount of money you are able to save. The logo of the brand is displayed at the top right hand corner of the page. it is in red with white outlines. It is in an on top of a black background. The black background helps the logo to stand out. This helps to create a brand identify. Also the same colour red white and black are used throughout the whole content page. they kept it simple and used a maximum number of 3 colours as it seem professional and it won’t be crowned with all kinds of colours, which is very unpleasant to the eye. The content page is very crowded with context. The left hand column is filled with band index. This is a list of different bands that are featured in the magazine. The column is in the left hand corner so it is the first thing you see as people read from left to right. If you see a band you like or have interest it. It will draw you in. also the subheading is in bold and written in white with a black background. The context is written also in bullet points which make it easier for the audience to read and understand.
